Soaring with Hope

June 28, 201210:00AM - 11:00AM

Come and see four live birds of prey! This program is designed for cancer patients and their families, clinicians and other caregivers. When Hope Douglas developed breast cancer in 2007 she said "I took inspiration from the birds. All of them were badly hurt, but that didn't let it stop them. They had taught me how to carry on with dignity. That's how I  apporached cancer". Hope is the founder of Wind Over Wings, a non profit raptor rehabilitation and education center. The birds you'll meet at this program are unable to be released back to the wild due to injury.  They include a Golden Eage, Great Horned Owl, Saw-whet Owl & Red-tailed Hawk. Their stories are heartwarming and passionate. As Henry David Thoreau said "In their daily life, all are braver than they know".
